Racial and religious harmony

How racial and religious harmony can be fostered in schools?

Pupils of different races and religious groups interact not only in our neighbourhood but also at school. Therefore, it is significant that teachers encourage interaction among pupils of different races so that they can instil in them the values of tolerance and mutual respect for one another. One aspect of doing so is using the cooperative learning strategies which strongly bring pupils together to share and listen to one another. In this way, they also inculcate in them values that they should observe and practise.

Since Singapore is a cosmopolitan country, pupils can be made to realise the importance of a strong inter-cultural community through games they play in schools - promote traditional games so that they can play during their recesses. In this way, the school facilitates the learning of core values through games that they play.
